Date: 30 March 2016

With this weekend’s meeting at Condover cancelled, it means that the destination of the 2016 AMCA Superclass crown is already done and dusted. So, it’s many congratulations to Luke Burton the new Champion aboard his Rikki Priest Fraser Husqvarna UK.

And, what a worthy Champion Luke has proved to be, winning all six moto’s staged. During round one at Long Lane, he was joined on the podium by Jack Cox and defending Superclass Champion Richard Cannings with Andrew Smart, James Dodd and first MX2 pilot home, Josh Waterman in a great 6th. Round two at Bromsberrow and despite riding with a broken shoulder, Burton again remarkably took all three wins. Whilst Luke was strolling to victory however, Jack Cox crashed out in moto one thus ending his Superclass challenge.

So the Bromsberrow podium was Burton from Cannings and Dodd, also to be the final top three in the 2016 Championship standings. Next best was the equally consistent performers Smart, Ryan Crowder, Lewis King, Brad Tranter and Adam Harris with Luke Mellows the first 250F rider home in a great 9th overall and another 250F ace, Zac Stealey completing the top ten.

The attention now turns to the opening round of the 2016 AMCA British Motocross Championship powered by Datatag and supported by Dunlop and what a chase it promises to be! The 2016 line-up is arguably the strongest in the AMCA history and picking the likely winners appears to seemingly be a truly impossible task!

The date for your diary is Sunday, May 1st with the venue being Lower Drayton which is just off Junction 13 of the M6, postcode ST19 5RE.
