Interested in starting motocross? It's quick and easy to start riding motocross with the AMCA. There is a motocross club near you so please read on.
You can take a licence out online and the AMCA office will find you a club to join, alternatively you can select and join a club and let us know which club it is when you take your licence.
AMCA members benefit from access to local events at affordable entry fees, the events are organised by local clubs and this helps keep entry fees down.
Depending on which club you join – you will either be able to enter and pay for events on line or through your club secretary.
All Motocross licence holders have to be members of a motocross club and generally speaking your club will ask for your help when they run an event. On average most clubs run two events per season, this would mean you would be required to help (or provide a helper) at these events, the rest of the season you can ride without having to ride or marshal!
All AMCA events from the smallest club event to the International events are transponder timed. This provides riders with accurate positions and lap times after each race, these can viewed via the AMCA website.
AMCA aims to offer you events throughout the season, every week, you can enter this event either online or thorough your club secretary.
The AMCA caters for riders of 7 years and above. 7 - 14 year olds race in a separate class called Inter Juniors if the rider is on an 85cc/150F, in some events riders will also be able to compete on 65cc machines. Riders can then progress on an ability basis known as Juniors, Seniors, and Experts before progressing to Championship level.
Details of the cost of a motocross licence can be found below.
All riders at AMCA events have Personal Accident cover as standard (See Standing Regulations in the About the AMCA section of the website for details).
