Unfortunately due to tragic circumstances which saw Vets rider Shaun Willis lose his life following a non-racing related incident, round two of the AMCA British Motocross Championship sponsored by Dunlop and held at Brookthorpe was rightly abandoned on Saturday. Everyone at the AMCA and fellow riders are deeply shocked by his untimely passing and would like to express their sincere sympathies to Shaun’s family.

Even a massive overnight tidal surge which flooded parts of the circuit couldn’t halt the superb 2021 AMCA Skegness Beach Race. Following an enforced break due to the Covid pandemic, the event supported by Visit Lincs Coast BID, Magna Vitae Trust and East Lindsey District Council with sponsorship from Tysers Motorsport Insurance, Datatag Security and Dunlop Tyres was back in style. Attracting a very big entry and watched by one of the largest crowds seen so far in its 11 year history, the weekend culminated in Sunday’s big main race which resulted in a great win for Cabscreens Crescent Yamaha star Dan Thornhill.

With a massive crown in attendance and able to watch the action for FREE, nearly 300 riders then entertained them with an afternoon of sand surfing. Hosted by the Purbeck MCC in conjunction with the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club and aided by their reliable army of volunteers, this latest staging was to be another classic, immaculately presented with it’s usual precision and class.
