Kris Winder bounced back to top form with five dominant victories at the second round of the British Classic MX championship on the superb circuit at Lyme Farm near Newcastle Under Lyme.Andy Withers was at attended the South Coast Scramble on Sunday to send us these pics.

A Pre74 British Championship double race victory was included in the five wins to allow him to snatch a narrow lead in the standings from Kristian Marshall and Andy Hinchcliffe as the championship takes a mini break until early July. There were first wins of the season for Will Bateup with a double in the Pre65’s where round one winner Lee Kelly suffered from mechanical problems. Greg Speed hit form with a Pre68 win but stalled the bike in race two whilst leading to drop back to fourth in class, the race was won by Chris Collins.

A strong support programme produced some excellent racing on this very fast circuit, some of the highlights were the Elsinore Hondas of Winder, Hinchcliffe and Ben Weaver going head to head in the Pre74’s, Winder taking a triple and the Pre60/65’s thundering around with Gene Womack, Phil Edwards and John Pickering providing the main entertainment.  There was a cameo performance from the fast starting Pete Mathia in the bigger Pre74 class where he enjoyed some close racing with overall winner Keith Rice, Ashley Wilson and Chris Chell.

The next round is at Woodford Northampton on 7th July.
