With it's recent covering of wood-chip and a battering from a heavy overnight belt of rain, the Brookthorpe circuit on Sunday was certainly not to everyones liking! One competitor though who did enjoy the going was sidecar rider Mike Hodges and his passenger Charlie Ide.

During round two of the 2017 AMCA Sidecar Championship, Hodges bagged maximum points although he certainly had to work very hard for that glory! In all three races, the fast starting Tony Grahame/Harley Lloyd and Paul Pelling/Chris Pannell were right in the mix. Whilst Grahame went onto bag 2nd overall, the unlucky Pelling was denied a place on the podium when classifed with a DNF in moto one when his transponder came adrift. So with Pelling missing out, the box was completed instead by the pairing of Sam Osbaldiston and Nathan Cooper.

On a busy day of action, all of the Brookthorpe solo support classes were full of quantity and quality. TMC Kawasaki pilot Paul Neale topped the MX1 Experts, a class which also featured the likes of James Dodd, Luke Newman, Ben Saunders, Adam Harris, Matt Ridgway and Dean Swift. Over in MX2 Experts, Josh Waterman, Luke Dean and Clinton Barrs produced some spectacular racing in the opening two moto's. However all three sat out the last clash of the day so the overall win belonged to Jack Hunt instead.

In the Seniors, Mark Tooth took MX1 whilst the MX2 first place trophy was claimed by young Jamie Comley, a great effort aboard his 2T 144cc KTM. As expected the Juniors classes at Brookthorpe were very well supported with overall victories going to Matt Tolley, Aaron Jordan and Phillip Inglis.
